Some people prefer acrylic to glass. Sometimes standard glass tanks will not accommodate the sump requirements. There are a myriad of reasons to use acrylic. Many reasons to use glass sumps also, and many reasons to diy the whole thing from either. Tall narrow tanks, do not make good sumps, short wide sumps won't fit in a lot of cases.

Cut a hole for the bulkhead on the side you want the water pumped into the Refugium. I used a 1/2" bulkhead, I think the size works better for the smaller size of this container. Turned out easier than I though. Now the refugium is back on track. After increasing the feedings (added an automatic feeder) and fish stock in the tank, I now stand at a rock solid 0.25 ppm Nitrates and 0.02 ppm PO4. It is low, but acceptable in my view, especially since it as been solid for the past 3 months.
